Court to Further Evaluate Teen Accused of Sexual Assault

A doctor was unable to determine the competency of 19-year-old Austin Mucha, who is accused of sexually assaulting a 6-year-old girl in a church.

A 19-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting a 6-year-old girl in a church will undergo further evaluation to determine whether he’s competent to stand trial.

Austin Mucha has been charged with first-degree sexual assault for an incident that occurred in the nursery of a local church. Mucha allegedly told police he was hearing voices in his head that told him to “ask a little girl to take her clothes off.”

Mucha was ordered by the court to undergo a competency hearing in June. On Friday, a doctor with the Wisconsin Forensic Unit ordered Mucha be transferred to another facility for further evaluation. The forensic unit was unable to determine Mucha’s competency.
