Chief Hevey Has Left the Village

Menomonee Falls Fire Chief Jeffrey Hevey headed south July 5 to take over as chief of a department in Katy, Texas.

Menomonee Falls Fire Chief Jeffrey Hevey has left Menomonee Falls.

Hevey will take over as chief of the Harris County Emergency Service District No. 48 in Katy, Texas. Back in Menomonee Falls, Deputy Chief Donald Umhoefer is now acting chief.

Patch reported June 20 that Hevey was seeking a new job, but needed to finalize details. Hevey officially left Menomonee Falls for Texas on July 5 after participating in the Independence Day Parade operations downtown.

Hevey joined the MFFD from Wauwatosa in 2009, and replaced Robert Coon who served from 1998-2009. In February 2012, the MFFD was combined with the Menomonee Falls Police Department under one administrative umbrella, the Protective Services Department. Police Chief Anna Ruzinski is oversees the department.
