Man Alleges He Was Robbed At Gunpoint While Buying Marijuana

One Falls man is busted selling to teens, then he tells police another man had recently robbed him of $700 during a drug deal.

Two Menomonee Falls men are facing charges after one of them got busted selling marijuana to teenagers, and then flipped around and told police his robbed him at gunpoint.

According to the criminal complaint:

On Feb. 2, a Menomonee Falls police officer caught two 15-year-old students at Menomonee Falls High School in a drug transaction and the seller told officers he got the drugs from Zachary T. Ehler, 19, at his home in the N6100 block of Millridge Lane.

Officers went to Ehler’s home and talked to his mother about the accusation, which made her upset, so she told her son to show the officers any drugs he might have in the house. He took them downstairs and revealed a cut in fabric under a sofa cushion where he was hiding nearly an ounce of marijuana. He then gave them a large bong and baggies with marijuana resin he was keeping in his room.

On Feb. 6, Ehler’s contacted officers again to let them know on Jan. 16, Joseph J. Scaffidi, 20, robbed him at gunpoint in a car near Lilly Road and Mill Road. Ehlers said he was supposed to buy two ounces of marijuana from Scaffidi for $700.

Scaffidi, his cousin and another person picked up Ehlers at his home and drove to a parking lot. Ehlers gave Scaffidi the $700 and Scaffidi then pulled a handgun out of the glove box and told him to get out of the car.

Ehlers said he walked home, but was afraid to tell the cops he was robbed while trying to buy drugs, but his stepfather convinced him to come forward.

Scaffidi denied robbing Ehlers at gunpoint, saying he bought marijuana from him before the incident, but it was of poor quality, so he picked him up and refused to pay for the drugs in order to teach Ehlers a lesson. He said they dropped Ehlers off at his home and told him to leave before something worse than getting “jacked” happened.

Ehlers was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Wednesday with one count of possession of THC, the active ingredient in marijuana and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, while Scaffidi was charged with one count of theft. If convicted, Ehlers faces up to seven months in prison and $1,500 in fines, while Scaffidi faces up to nine months in prison and $10,000 in fines.
