Burning Ban In Effect for Falls

Ban took effect June 14 and remains in place.

A burning ban issued by the Menomonee Falls Fire Department is still in effect this week.

The MFFD issued the ban on June 14, and conditions have yet to improve. Although the village received a little rain over the weekend, it was not enough to saturate the vegetation.

Those who wish to burn in the future will need to receive permission per the village's ordinance.

Violators of the ban can be fined $177. The ban does not pertain to charcoal or gas grills.

I love it when my elitist neighbors drive by my yard and scowl at my napalm-bombed-like fires.

I’m new to Menomonee Falls so excuse my possible ignorance in asking this question. Other than seeing it here on the Patch, where else could I have found out that there was a burning ban in M.F.? I took a brief look at the village website but didn’t see anything there. It would be if the option were available to sign up for email notifications when things like this happen.

atthec44: Go back on the Village website and on the main page on the left click on notify me. It takes you to a page where you can sign up for e-mail or text alerts. The only thing is there are several to choose from so I don't know which one would have alerted you to this. I have not signed up for any of these but I have a relative who has and she finds out about current crimes etc.

Will we have fireworks on July 3rd? My relatives are counting on it!
