Attempted Home Burglaries Reported in Germantown

The two attempted burglaries in Germantown come six days after police in Menomonee Falls and Brookfield issued a warnings about a similar crimes occurring within their boundaries.

Menomonee Falls' neighbors to the north have joined a growing list of police departments investigating burglary-related crimes. 

Germantown police are investigating two incidents of attempted break-ins that occurred at roughly 1 a.m. Wednesday, according to a statement published on the Germantown Public Information Facebook page. The incidents occurred in a neighborhood on the northwest corner of Donges Bay Road and Highway 145.

The first attempted burglary involved an unlocked rear patio door of an occupied home. A family member spotted the suspect very briefly before he fled on foot. The second was a residence directly behind the first where noises were heard as if someone was trying to open the doors and a window screen was removed from its frame.

Just six days ago, Menomonee Falls police released a warning to residents about a pair of men who were attempting to burglarize a home on Stoneridge Drive. Three similar residential burglaries occurred in Brookfield days before the Falls incidents. 

Germantown police are looking for a suspect that is a black male,  20 to 40 years of age, over six feet tall, average build, large eyes, and unknown clothing other than something white near the shirt area.
