Gov. Walker: Bipartisan and Pro-Jobs

Scott Walker's weekly radio addresses also appear on Patch as columns.

Here is the transcript from this Thursday’s radio address, which is titled Bipartisan and Pro-Jobs

Hi this is Scott Walker.

My number one priority is jobs.

During the three years before I took office Wisconsin lost 150,000 private sector jobs.  During the past year, we leveled things off.  And now we're heading in the right direction for 2012, and beyond.

A new report shows that Wisconsin added jobs in January and our unemployment rate is down from last year.  In fact, it’s the lowest it has been since 2008.

Confidence is up too. Two years ago, just 10 percent of our employers thought our state was headed in the right direction. Today, 94 percent now say Wisconsin is headed in the right direction.

Still, we have a great deal of work to do. That's why I'm so glad that lawmakers in both political parties recently passed two key parts of our Wisconsin Working plan.  It will help put more people into jobs.

One bill helps us bridge the gap between unemployment and work by giving people time to get key jobs skills.  The other helps remove a barrier to employment for veterans who have important skills.

Working together, we got these measures passed and now I'm signing them into law. We will build off of this strong foundation to put even more people to work in Wisconsin.

Ah, that moment when all those hours of playing 3-D chess finally pay off...

Isn't the Patch fun?

Dear Hoffa and AA Since you two are now the self proclaimed reigning conservative queens of Patch, I bow out to your greatness. I know when I am beat. You win. You made friends with each other. Go have beers together. God, that has to make you two scream and holler like sorority girls. The last comment from the Great AA cinched the deal that I am arguing with an idiot without a clue. If you two are conservatives, God help us. I know in the AA's case he/she is too chicken s##t to run for public office, yet knows someone who knows someone. Hoffa, I wouldn't classify you as an idiot, but a just plain arrogant know-it-all that has WAY too much time on his(?) hands. The both of you have passed judgement on me so don't cry to momma that I did the same to you. Good bye ladies.

$$andSense - Ah yes, another fan of Hoffa! You should really sign up for Hoffa's monthly newsletter! And if you act now, I'll even send an autographed black and white 8 x 10 that you can proudly display up on the old fireplace mantle ;-)
