Jonathan W. Schweiss

June 14, 1966 - May 26, 2012

Jonathan W. Schweiss committed his final act of kindness on May 26, 2012. Born June 14, 1966 to Marlene and Charles Schweiss Sr., his two brothers, Steve and Chuck Jr. were waving flags as they welcomed their brother and best friend into the family. Almost 25 years ago, Jon married his best friend, Christy (nee Flora). Their marriage produced the two most important ladies in Jonathan's life, his daughters Julie and Jill. Preceding Jon in death is his mom, Marlene along with his best buddy, grandfather, John and grandmother, Mary Habenicht. His loving and favorite auntie Gloria (Pesch) and uncle Johnny (Habenicht) continue to support Jon's family. Jon also had a very special friendship with his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bruce and Cindy Flora. Numerous family members survive Jon. He enjoyed joking around with his nieces and nephews, always keeping them on their toes. His spirit will always be with the Flora and Schweiss family members along with all who knew and loved him.

Jon, who was a member of the swim team, graduated in 1984 from Milwaukee Madison High School. He was probably the only student who used his free time to change the oil on faculty and teachers' vehicles. Following graduation, Jon followed his Dad and Brothers by enlisting in the Wisconsin Air National Guard. As a KC-135 crew chief, Jon proudly supported his State and Country. His resourcefulness and entrepreneurial spirit lead to many jobs prior to him working for the Village of Menomonee Falls. The entire village knew Jon as the friendly guy who waved as people passed by on foot or in vehicles. Jon was doing the job he loved best when he left us - driving tractor-trailer as "The Waterman".

Jon loved snowmobiling and boating with his closest friend Rick, taking his family to waterparks, eating breakfast at Maxim's and simply visiting with all his friends at Kip's Inn. Together, Jon and Christy enjoyed playing volleyball, riding motorcycles and camping. Christy, Julie and Jill especially enjoyed family bike rides. His family will always remember the "special" things Jon did at Christmas. His sneaky ways kept his girls believing in Santa a long time. Everyone will always remember him as a caring and compassionate person who put others before himself. His daughters will never forget his jokester attitude. Jon is very proud of his daughters. Not a day went by where he failed to mention something special about Julie and Jill. Jon's memory will forever be in our hearts and minds.
