John J. Schmitz passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2012 at the age of 89 years.
Loving husband of the late Annette “Nookie” (nee Diehnelt). Dear father of Sherry (Robert) Nuszbaum, Robert (Judith) Schmitz, Guy (Kathy) Schmitz and Cary (Illeen) Schmitz. Cherished grandpa of Cyndee (Tom), Penny (Jason), Tim (Megan), Lisa (Nick), Daniel, Kevin, Danny and Tony. Great-grandpa of Tommy, Drew and Addison. Preceded in death by his sister Doris Sokol. Further survived by other relatives and dear friends.

A memorial gathering will take place at on Sunday, August 12 from 11 a.m. until the time of remembrance at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the AMVETS are greatly appreciated.
