Obituary: Irene Pelt

Irene, a member of the National Honor Society, besides being a dedicated and loving wife and mother keeping her house "grandma clean."

Irene Pelt, age 90, passed away at Zilber Hospice Oct. 1 2012.Irene is survived by her loving husband and best friend Ray and their children Thomas (Judith), Robert (Monika), Barbara (Paul) Greenwald, Gerald (Teresa), the late Kenneth (Jessie), Mary Beth (Dave) Wick and grandchildren Cyndee Pelt, Tracy (Casey) Bubolz, Steven Wick, Angela Wick, John Wick, Peter Dorn, Shane (Katie) Alm, great grandchildren Skylar and Xavier, sister-in-law Arlene Neelsen, other relatives and many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Libbie Neelsen, sister Audrey (Robert) Clary and brother Eugene.

Irene, a member of the National Honor Society, besides being a dedicated and loving wife and mother keeping her house "grandma clean" was involved in many volunteer activities at M.G.C. including Girl Scout Leader, helping in the church office, President of Home and School, Christian Women and the 55+ Club. She was incharge of the church rummage sales, Christmas cookie sales and Pizza days. She also worked in the kitchen for the Christian Women breakfast for many years. Wherever there was something going on, Irene was there to help. She was an avid quilter and other stichery and enjoyed playing in a number of card groups, both Bridge and Sheepshead.She will be greatly missed by many.

Visitation at is from 9-11 a.m. Oct. 8 at Mother of Good Counsel Church, 7000 W. Lisbon Ave. Mass of Resurrection at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Mother of Good Counsel Parish would be appreciated.The family wants to extend a deep appreciation to Zilber Hospice for all their caring attention given Irene during her stay there.
