Community Race Back For Third Year

Bethlehem Lutheran School has once again partnered with the Germantown Fire Department to offer the Blazer Race 5k run and 2-mile walk on September 8 at 9 a.m.

Bethlehem Lutheran School, with campuses in Menomonee Falls and Germantown, along with the Germantown Fire Department have once again partnered to present the Blazer Race on Saturday, September 8 beginning at 9 a.m. 

This third annual race features a 5k run and 2-mile walk beginning at Bethlehem Lutheran School's north campus in Germantown (N108 W14290 Bel Aire Lane) and winds its way through Kinderberg Park and the nearby neighborhood before returning back to the school.

Proceeds from the Blazer Race benefit Bethlehem Lutheran School's Education Fund and the Germantown Fire Department. Last year, nearly 200 participants helped raise $2,300.

A printable flyer and online registration is available at BlazerRace.com. It is $10 for youth 18 and under and $15 for adults who register by September 5. On race day the registration fee increases to $20. Each participant will receive a T-shirt, morning snack and beverages, along with a chance to win gender/age division medals and overall awards.

The Germantown Fire Department provides prevention and fire protection services, emergency medical services, and public education services for more than 19,500 residents. The Survive Alive House is the department's biggest educational initiative and provides education for all ages in a variety of topics ranging from fire safety to CPR training.

Bethlehem Lutheran Church was founded in 1960 in Menomonee Falls. Its school opened in 1962 and due to tremendous growth, added a second campus in Germantown in 2001. A building expansion soon to be completed at the Germantown campus will include 4 additional classrooms, a multipurpose room, restrooms, and mezzanine space. Bethlehem Lutheran’s congregation has grown to more than 1,700 members and enrollment in Bethlehem Lutheran School exceeds 300 students from grades 3K through 8. Bethlehem also has a thriving daycare.
