Window-Breaking Vandals Strike Three More Times

Two businesses and a vehicle window were broken by vandals thought to be wielding a wrist rocket and BB.

Since December, the Menomonee Falls Police Department has addressed a rash of vandalism incidents involving a suspect or group of suspects firing BBs through windows with a wrist rocket or slingshot.

Since December, Menomonee Falls Patch has reported nine separate incidents throughout the village where a quarter-inch BB was fired into windows at numerous businesses, mainly along Appleton Avenue. , N89W16856 Appleton Ave., was hit between 6 p.m. March 9 and 2:30 p.m. March 10; the church also was targeted in December.

“It will be several thousand dollars in damage in the end but that’s just a guess,” said St. Paul's Congregation President Lowell Mueller. “It’s unfortunate, but I’m hoping that these vandals can be picked up quickly because it’s costly for any establishment.”

Mueller commended the MFPD for being proactive and responsive in attempting to locate the individuals behind the vandalism.

Two more businesses and a car window were vandalized in a similar fashion in this week’s police reports, and the total reported incidents stands at nine. Here are the details on the most recent:

  • A window was damaged at the , N85W16110 Appleton Ave., sometime between 4 p.m. Feb. 26 and 2:15 p.m. March 10. A quarter–inch ball bearing was found on the floor near the window.
  • Between 10:30 p.m. March 12 and 8 a.m. March 13, an unknown person fired a quarter-inch BB through the window of a Pontiac Grand Prix parked behind , N88W16688 Main St. The BB was found inside the vehicle.
  • Between Feb. 11 and Feb. 16, windows at Thomas Jefferson Middle School, , Mobil One Oil Change and were broken.
  • In December, a window at was damaged once before. In January, reported a damaged window.

According to MFPD reports, similar incidents have also been reported by other neighboring communities.
