The Week Ahead: Chilly Fest and the 2013 Distinguished Young Woman Competition

Here's a look at what's coming up this week in Menomonee Falls.

There's a lot to do this weekend in Menomonee Falls. 

  The 2013 Distinguished Young Women of Menomonee Falls Scholarship Program will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, in the  auditorium.  Nine participants will be competing for the title and the opportunity to compete in state program on Aug. 4. Music will be provided by the Menomonee Falls High School Jazz Band. Tickets are available at the door for $5.

": The final three performances of Menomonee Falls Patio Players' performance of "Almost Maine" begin at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the auditorium. There will be another 7:30 p.m. performance Saturday, and the final performance is a matinee at 2 p.m. Sunday.

School Board: The Menomonee Falls School Board will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in . 

Chilly Fest: The Menomonee Falls Village Centre invites will hold its 5th Annual Chilly Fest from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in downtown Menomonee Falls.  Professional as well as non-professional ice carvers will be on Appleton Ave. and Main St. in competition for the top prizes in each category.

A chili competition will be held at 11:00 am in a heated tent in off Main St. behind the waterfall. Sample chili when judging has been completed.  Goofy winter games will be on-going at the park (maybe on the river) both for adults and children.

Italian Dinner Fundraiser: An evening of great food and entertainment is in store for the community Feb. 15 as the  Band Boosters hosts its annual Jazzy Italian Dinner from 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.

Tickets for the all-you-can-eat dinner at  cafeteria are $8 for adults, $6 for senior citizens over age 60 and students ages 6-18, and $3 for children ages 2-5.

Wild Ones Meeting: Tom Kroeger, ranger/property manager at Milwaukee Lake Shore State Park will present a unique power point presentation about insects found in Wisconsin. Close-up shots of these critters could amaze you. The meeting runs from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the
