The Week Ahead: Elementary Students Go for World Record

Here's a look at what's on the schedule the week before Christmas in Menomonee Falls.

School Board and Village Board: Both the School Board and Village Board will meet Monday at . The School Board will meet at 5:15 p.m. School Board Members David Noshay and Kathy Shurilla both said they will announce whether they are running for re-election in April 2012. There will be a reception before the meeting from 4 to 4:45 p.m. in rooms 3344/3345 to honor the service of executive assistant Carol Rudnick.

The Village Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. as usual.

Hand bell concert: The Grace Lutheran Hand Bell concert group will hold a performance at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the , W180N7890 Town Hall Rd. Limited seating.  Please register by calling 262-253-0909.

Read it to beat it: Students from and will participate in a Guinness World Record attempt from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the U.S. Cellular Arena in Milwaukee. On Tuesday 5,000 students will gather at the arena to read with Ryan Grant and Craig Counsell for 30 minutes to break the current world record of 4,222 students held in Nigeria.
