Reagan West Fitness Center Enjoying Falls People and Business Climate

Business is growing for Reagan West Fitness which opened its doors on Main Street last March.

Reagan West can certainly attest to the power of positive, word-of-mouth advertising.

Back in March, West opened her Reagan West Fitness Center in studios located at N88 W16586 Main Street. However, her career got a boost months earlier after she agreed to help a Menomonee Falls woman who wanted to improve her time in the Boston Marathon.

“I started out with the gal running the Boston Marathon and then it ended up being a group of people,” West said. “We met once a week and after about six months of that it was getting to the point where I broke it out and started the full boot camp, running five classes a week and we added classes from there."

The fitness center, which shares studio time with the Peace Yoga Studio, features four instructors and offers a variety of different programs, including:

  • Bootcamp, which offers cardio strengthening for any fitness level
  • Trekk’g, which is a High cardio metabolic boosting workout with equipment including a bike, treadmill and elliptical machine
  • Power Yoga, which incorporates flexibility and strength work in addition to an element of core work

“We offer group personal training and fitness classes and I target to any fitness level, really,” West said. “We also have a lot of boot camp classes with a lot of people just starting out wanting to lose weight. Some people are training for a marathon or have some other goal in mind. We do a lot of yoga and core work so that you’re getting a full body experience.”

With fitness centers popping up in so many places, West believes her personal experiences set the center apart from many others.

“I’m pretty much in contact all the time with the people that are there,” said West. “You can individually change your target of what your goals are all the time. If you have a specific injury you just get a really personalized experience. For anything we do, I have four to five different modifications so whether you need to make it a little tougher for yourself or make it a little easier to adjust for an injury, you’re getting personal training because I get to know each person.”

For many years, West lead workout sessions in a number of area communities including Brookfield, Menomonee Falls and Pewaukee. Now that she’s settled into her own building in the Falls, West says she is very happy with the community, its people and the business climate.

”I’ve just found Menomonee Falls to be such a totally down-to-earth community with wonderful people. The biggest blessing coming out of starting this is the people that I have met,” West said. “I’ve made so many friends and that’s been the biggest surprise and best part of it.”

West said personal training typically costs about $50 an hour, but her clients in their small group training sessions and classes pay between $10 and $15 an hour. Even though the economy has been up and down, West said her classes reamin a good deal despite the forecast on NASDAQ.
