Radisson Hotel Foreclosure Suit Moves Forward

The village's attorney in the Menomonee Falls Radisson Hotel case, Randall Crocker, said they were unable to reach a settlement to prevent moving forward with a foreclosure suit against the hotel.

The pending foreclosure suit between the Menomonee Falls Radisson Hotel and the village is moving forward, but it’s going to be some time before a conclusion is reached.

On Monday, attorneys representing the village, Radisson Hotel owners past and present, and contractors met at the Waukesha County Circuit. An attorney representing the village, Randall Crocker, told the court that they hadn’t reached a resolution to prevent moving forward with the foreclosure suit. There was some hope that a settlement could be reached March 10.

“We had hoped we could reach a global resolution that contemplated a settlement that allowed for payment on completed work at the hotel. Those negotiations have not resulted in a settlement and we think it is prudent and appropriate to move this case forward,” Crocker said.

“I think it’s in the best interest of the hotel to move this along. The longer there is uncertainty associated with the hotel, the more difficult it is to maximize its value,” Dizard said.

The next steps in the Radisson saga is a motion hearing on June 10, and a pre-trial hearing on Sept. 26. A trial will be scheduled during the September hearing.

In February, Dizard was granted expanded powers over the hotel’s operations. He was given power to remove Dean Grosskopf and his assistant from the payroll, and market the hotel for sale to new owners.
