Plenty to Do For Memorial Day Weekend in Menomonee Falls

Menomonee Falls will be holding a number of events to celebrate and honor our service men and women this Memorial Day weekend.

It's going to be a busy weekend in Menomonee Falls as residents celebrate and honor United State service men and women. There will be plenty of activites to fill your planner from Saturday to Sunday.

Sidewalk Market and Art on the Walk

On Saturday the village will hold a Sidewalk Market from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. along Main Street. Sidewalks will be full of bargain merchandise from stores nearby, as well as booths from other vendors and residents. At the same time near Main and Mill Streets, residents can visit the Art on the Walk Art Crawl, featuring work from local artists.

Law Enforcement Memorial Service

On Sunday, at 2 p.m., the Menomonee Falls Law Enforcement Memorial Service will be held at John Taylor Park, N87W16530 Appleton Ave. The service will honor Menomonee Falls police officers who have died in the line of duty, and will feature guest speakers and a bugle solo by a Menomonee Falls officer.

Memorial Day Parade

The highlight of the weekend is the Memorial Day Parade, which will be held on Monday. Beginning at 10 a.m., the parade will travel down Main Street from Harrison Avenue to Grand Avenue. It will then continue north on Grand Avenue and stop at the bridge over the Menomonee River just east of Woodlawn Drive. This year's parade will feature 55 units and will include l and marching bands.

Parade watchers are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to donate. The food items will be collected at the parade and given to local families in need.

After the parade, the Knights of Columbus will hold another celebration featuring free ice cream for kids and music at their Water Street Clubhouse. Brats, burgers, and hot dogs will be available for purchase.

Residents are asked to make note of street closings on Memorial Day to ensure the safety of parade participants. From 9:45 a.m. to noon, Main Street will be blocked off from Pilgrim Road to Appleton Avenue.

β€œYour cooperation with these guidelines is greatly appreciated and will help ensure the safety of all parade attendees and participants. Enjoy the parade and have a wonderful holiday weekend,” said Menomonee Falls Police Sergeant Matthew Lewek.
