Optimists Popping Again on Appleton Avenue

Like tulips in spring, or golden leaves in fall, it's a sure sign summer has arrived when that big red wagon is parked on Appleton Avenue.

The Optimist Club's popcorn wagon has returned to it's traditional post and is open once again. The popcorn wagon is open nightly from 6:30-9 p.m.; located on Appleton Avenue southeast of Pilgrim Road, in the parking lot east of McDonald’s.

It's a great spot to enjoy a little popcorn, catch some rays, and catch up with the locals running the stand.

Proceeds from the sale of popcorn are used to sponsor many events for community children; such as the Independence Day Parade, high school scholarships, Post Prom, Student of the Month, TriStar sports, to name a few.

The Optimist Club meets every Wednesday morning at 7:15 a.m. in room 102 of the , N8645 Margaret Road.
