Just a week after the nation had its eye on Wisconsin for the Packers' Super Bowl victory, the state finds itself back in the national limelight. Protests have been organzied throughout the state this week as a result of Gov. Scott Walker's proposed budget repair bill. Although the protests have captured state headlines, it was also a busy week in Menomonee Falls. Here are some of the top headlines that appeared on Menomonee Falls Patch this week.

On Wednesday, hundreds of protestors opposed to Walker's proposed budget bill gathered near North Middle School and in downtown Menomonee Falls. for a roundup of protest coverage from surrounding Patch sites.

Dog dies after falling into a pipe

Menomonee Falls firefighters and the Department of Public Works joined forces to attempt a , a black lab, that fell into a pipe Wednesday on Irene Drive. Twenty rescue workers were unable to save Boomer after digging out the pipe. revealed the pipe that claimed the dog's life should have been removed years ago by contractors.

New Irish pub and restaurant to open in March

Graduation ceremony staying in Menomonee Falls

Menomonee Falls High School Principal Gary Kiltz presented an update on the proposal to move the . Kiltz said in a previous meeting that Miller Park would be an ideal location to hold graduation. However, after receving feedback from the public, it appeared that idea struck out.

Menomonee Falls knocks Tosa East out of first

Head Coach Ben Siebert said the boys basketball team played as they knocked Wauwatosa East out of first place in the Greater Metro Conference. The Indians defeated the Red Raiders 52-47.
