U.S. Army Sgt. Maj. Craig Fraedrich will play the trumpet as part of the U.S. Army Band called “Pershing’s Own" on January 21.

A Menomonee Falls native will play trumpet in the United States Army Band “Pershing’s Own" at the 57th U.S. Presidential Inauguration on Jan. 21.

U.S. Army Sgt. Maj. Craig Fraedrich is part of a 90-year-old band whose mission is to provide music for official ceremonies and special events throughout the nation, according to DVIDS hub.

“Pershing’s Own” is the premier band of the U.S. Army and is considered the nation’s most senior service. Many of its classically trained members have earned advance degrees from the nation’s most prestigious music schools and conservatories.

The band has been part of the inauguration ceremonies since Calvin Coolidge's inauguration in 1925.

Fraedrich also played in Pershing's Own's 86th anniversary concert in 2008.

The 2013 Presidential Inauguration is at 11 a.m. CST Monday.
