Menomonee Falls Appears on Safest Communities List

Menomonee Falls was named the 60th safest community out of 100 according to Neighborhood Scout.

Menomonee Falls Police Chief Anna Ruzinski on Monday announced that the Village of Menomonee Falls received the honor as one of the 2013 Safest Cities in America for cities with a population of over 25,000.

This honor was received from the neighborhood research site, NeighborhoodScout, and Falls is ranked 60th out of 100 communities.

The award was unsolicited and based on the total number of crimes per 1,000 residents.  Data used for the research are 1) the total UCR crimes reported to the FBI to have occurred in each city, and 2) the population of each city.  Crime statistics reflect the 2011 calendar year, which are the most recent vetted by the FBI.

Recently, Patch compiled violent crime and property crime in a database, which can be viewed online.
