Look Back: The Great Blizzard of 2011

Exactly one year ago, Menomonee Falls was buried under more than a foot of snow.

A year sure can make a difference.

On this day last year, more than a foot of snow fell during a storm that earned the title “Snowmageddon.” Winds gusted to up to 55 miles per hour and 10- to 15-foot snow drifts I-94 and I-43. It prompted Gov. Scott Walker to declare a in the state.

Flash forward to Feb. 1, 2012, and it's a whole different story. Rather than wintry weather, it looks a bit more like early spring. There is virtually no snow on the ground, and a high of 43 degrees is expected this Groundhog Day.
