Krueger's Could Expand Arcade

With an eye on creating an attraction for a wider market, David Krueger is hoping to re-design the arcade area.

Krueger’s Entertainment Center is looking to make business a bit more – entertaining.

Business owner, David Krueger, would like to re-design the existing arcade area within the building. Plans call for the addition of 26 total entertainment devices and a prize redemption counter. The pool tables and dartboards would be relocated to another part of the facility.

According to Krueger’s application with the village, there’s a clear market shift in the United States toward installing more entertainment devices in businesses like his. The arcade-style atmosphere would further appeal to a wider range of ages and both genders.

“It helps bowling centers compete for party and group sales and, finally, reduces ‘veto votes’, which happen when one person in a group vetoes bowling as a night out, by providing another entertainment venue within the building,” Krueger’s application stated.

Krueger is asking the village to allow him to install up to 50 of these devices. It’s fourth time since 1989 that requests to expand the total number arcade machines at Krueger’s went before village leaders. Krueger’s request will head to the Plan Commission on March 5.
