Krueger's Arcade Expansion Gets Green Light

The Village Board on Monday approved David Krueger's request to expand the arcade at his bar, restaurant, and bowling alley.

Kids are going to have some new reasons to hold their birthday parties at Krueger's Entertainment Center on Appleton Avenue.

David Krueger received final approval from the Village Board to expand the size of his arcade by adding a significant number of new gaming devices, as well as a ticket redemption center.

The pool tables have been removed and dartboards would be relocated. Krueger sought permission to have up to 50 such electronic entertainment gaming devices. He hopes to expand his business through parties and fundraisers as the market for bowling has dipped slightly.

Though the request was approved, it included measures to control parking. During a Plan Commission meeting last week, commissioners added a condition that requires Krueger's staff to ensure customers park in their allotted stalls. Pop's Custard owner Sharon Whitman blasted Krueger last week for not enforcing parking restrictions, and his customers have parked in her stalls.

The board granted permission to expand the arcade so long as a person at least 18 or older supervises the redemption area, and that no entertainment devices catered for children are placed in the bar.
