Dave Gruber Earns Cross County Coaching Job

Gruber has been a longtime running coach in Menomonee Falls schools.

Menomonee Falls Athletic Director Ryan Anderson has been busy conducting interviews and reviewing resumes lately. 

On Wendesday, Anderson announced that Dave Gruber would take over the reigns as head coach of the girls cross country team. On Tuesday, Anderson hired Ben Farley to take over the boys basketball team. 

“I’m honored to be selected as the next girls head cross country coach.  I look to build upon the talent that we currently have and increase participation numbers for the sport,” Gruber said.

Gruber has been a longtime running coach in Menomonee Falls schools. He was the head middle school track and cross country coach, and he has been the high school assistant boys cross country coach the past two years.

“The selection team and I are excited to add Dave Gruber to the MFHS coaching staff,” Anderson said.  “I have worked with Dave for many years at the middle school level and I know that he is passionate about running and the students of Menomonee Falls.  He impressed the selection committee with his vision as well as his desire and dedication to make Menomonee Falls a top-tier cross country program.”

Gruber hopes to bring some inspiration to the team, and foster a deep comittment to the sport. 

“I hope to instill the passion of running in the girls that are committed to the sport.  I look forward to seeing the friends, family members, and supporters of Menomonee Falls athletics at our meets this fall,” said Gruber.

Gruber will be seeking an assistant coach.  The position is posted on WECAN and applicants are encouraged to apply no later than May 15.  If you have questions about the opening, please call Anderson at 262-255-8497.
