Air Quality Warning Remains in Effect Until 11 p.m.

Department of Natural Resources has deemed the air unhealthy for all people in Waukesha County, but air quality levels are rapidly improving.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural resources has issued an air quality advisory, and particulates in the air will remain at unhealthy levels for all people in Waukesha, Milwaukee, Racine and Kenosha counties until later this afternoon.

The warning is being issued due to the fine particulates emanating from a forest fire smoke plume in northeastern Minnesota.

In Dodge County, the air quality index is slightly better, and is unhealthy for people with cardiac or respiratory problems, but not all people.

The advisory will remain in effect until 11 p.m. Wednesday. However, air quality is improving rapidly as fine particulate levels in the air are decreasing at a high rate. It is anticipated that by Wednesday afternoon, no areas should have an air quality index that is at an unhealthy level for all people.

By this evening, the air quality is expected to continue improving and won’t be unhealthy for any group of people.
