After Foot Chase, Man Nabbed in Attempted Woodman's Robbery

One of three suspects is in custody after police say a he threatened store employees with a weapon and fled on foot.

One of three suspects is in custody after an attempted armed robbery that occurred Thursday at Woodman’s in Menomonee Falls.

At roughly 9 a.m. the Menomonee Falls Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery at the employee-owned grocery store. Two suspects fled in a small red vehicle, but store employees confronted a third.

When confronted, the man presented an object believed to be a knife or other weapon in a threatening manner while fleeing the scene with merchandise. Police located the man shortly thereafter and was taken into custody after a brief foot chase.

The bottles of liquor the man attempted to steal were recovered, and officers also found drug paraphernalia in his possession. The man was taken to jail, and is currently awaiting charges for robbery/use of threat of force and possession of drug paraphernalia in the Waukesha County Circuit Court.

The incident is still under investigation to identify the two other subjects involved in the crime.
