Local Menomonee Falls Writer and His Books

Menomonee Falls has a local Christian writer publishing a number of books. Dennis Herman has studied the Bible for more than 30 years and has recently turned his attention from writing studies on just about every subject in the Bible, including studies on all of Jesus' parables to writing books which explore more than God's written words. His stories dwell on God's personality and the personal relationship He works so hard to establish with each individual.
Dennis Herman has recently been studying online with retired pastor, Dr. Lee Gugliotto, a Gold Medallion winner for his Handbook for Bible Study. Dr. Lee Gugliotto's live online Bible studies cover a host of simple Bible study techniques. Seeing how these techniques are applied during live online study has greatly increased Dennis' insight of the Bible, allowing him to share theses study methods with others, apply them to his own studies, and include instructions for these methods in his books.
These techniques go beyond the usual methods of looking up words and locating texts. Comparing repeated words and texts within individual chapters shows the author's intent as well as revealing God's personality, feelings and emotions on every subject and matter. Learn how to see and understand God's personality placed in His Word.
God's personality is often expressed in His interactions with Bible characters. Many people have been touched by God's personality in their own lives and can witness to His understanding, attention, and concern. Seeing this is scripture requires examination of more that a text or two. Uses of these study skills is displayed in all of Dennis' books.
“T” is for the Tabernacle is a short book looking at the Tabernacle design given to Moses from and engineering aspect. Dennis' 25 years of engineering experience provided the background to ask necessary questions which brought out details and lessons in the Tabernacle never before explored. How did the Israelites know what materials to take out if Egypt to complete the Tabernacle? How did they build all the items used in the Tabernacle? What spiritual lesson was behind the design of each item? Dennis dwells on each of these subjects and more in this book.
Matthew The Stories Of Jesus' Ministry is a three part series exploring Jesus' life verse by verse. Each of short story looks at the people who came to Jesus, what led them, and how he touched their lives. This book combines knowledge of life in Jesus' time including lifestyle, social classes, political and religious atmosphere, and influences from God's Spirit to look into how these shaped the views and personalities of people in Jesus' life. Why did Jesus have trouble reaching His own disciples? Look at lessons learned by individuals seeking Jesus' healing hand. How did Jesus' miracles effect His followers? Why did religious leaders reject Jesus? Why didn't His disciples understand Jesus' death on the cross? Each story shows a side of Jesus few are able to experience. These stories are also great for sharing with children.
Understanding Parables According To The Gospel Of Mark Chapters 1 - 8 is another verse by verse series of stories which takes on a whole new meaning when studied under the contexts of chapter 4, the parable of the sower. Jesus promised to teach His disciples how to understand all parables. This began a long series of lessons, each teaching important details His disciples would need to take the message to the world. Jesus reserved the secret to understanding all scripture within Mark's Gospel. This book explains concepts and study rules Jesus teaches to all His disciples.
Jesus Teaches About Relationships: The Gospel of Mark Chapters 9 - 16 takes on a new subject as Jesus taught His disciples about the relationship He wanted them to have with God. These lessons live on today as God seeks a personal relationship with all His disciples. Using the same methods Jesus used to understand scripture, Jesus uses a series of events to show how God reached out to His people in the Old testament and continued His efforts on Jesus' time. Jesus used a number of events to show how much He desired a close personal relationship with each of His followers. See how and why the disciples missed such an important message. Read for yourself how this effected Jesus as He watched His disciples sleeping in the garden shortly before His trial. Find out what faith carried Jesus to the cross.
