This young lady certainly keeps herself busy and I have no idea where she finds the time to sleep. You will see Michelle around town when she is performing with the , which she has been a member of since 2002.

Why did you decide to sign up for the DYW Program?

I've known a handful of people who have participated in the past and I know that the program provides wonderful opportunities including making new friends, growing in confidence and professionalism as well as just being a fun and exciting experience.

Who or what encouraged or motivated you to participate in the DYW Program?

My older sisters Tori and Emily participated in the Junior Miss Program and they encouraged me to take advantage of the experience to grow through the program. I also saw how much fun they had making new friends and building confidence in themselves and I wanted that opportunity as well.

What do you hope to get out of the program?

Along my journey in the DWY program I hope to gain confidence in pubic speaking. I am not very comfortable with this and hope to improve so that I can successfully present myself in college and job interviews as well as any professional situation.

What is something you would like people to know about you?

I would like people to know me as a very driven and hard-working 17-year-old. Family, friends and faith come first in my life, closely followed by my focus on school. I work very hard to maintain high grades in my challenging AP and honors courses while balancing a part-time job at the Once Again Consignment Boutique and my passion for performing with Accompany of Kids.

AOK has been a part of my life since I was five years old and is one of the aspects in my life that has most shaped me to be who I am today. Like AOK, I hope to gain confidence, friendship, and a sense of accomplishment through participating in the DYW Program. Lastly, I want to thank my friends and especially my family for all their love and support. They are truly my role models and my strength. Their strong influence on my life is reflected in who I am. I'm so thankful to have them in my life.

Michelle is certainly an amazing young lady and has a very bright future ahead of her. If you are interested in seeing Michelle and all the other wonderful participants on Feb. 18 tickets are now available. Please feel free to contact me via email for more information.
