Katie Eisenhauer chosen as Menomonee Falls 2014 Distinguished Young Woman.

WOW what a night!  For the past few weeks I introduced you to 13 wonderful young ladies who were participating in the Menomonee Falls 2014 Distinguished Young Woman Scholarship Program sponsored by the Optimist Club of Menomonee Falls.  Well on Saturday, February 16th, Katie Eisenhauer was chosen as Menomonee Falls 2014 Distinguished Young Woman.  Katie will compete along with approximately 19 other young ladies representating their communities from around Wisconsin at the State Distinguished Young Woman Program on Saturday, August 3rd at the South Milwaukee Performing Arts Center to become Wisconsin's Distinguished Young Woman.  The State winner then competes in the National Program held in Mobile, Alabama.

In addition to Katie winning the major title she also won the individual categories of Interview, Self-Expression, Talent and Be Your Best Self Essay winner.

Morgan Nienow was 1st Alternate

Ali Woodall was 2nd Alternate

Tina Kolinski was chosen for the Fitness Category

Jessica Szuminski was chosen for the Scholastic Category

and Maddy Heim was chosen by the girls for the Spirit Award

Over $3500 was awarded in scholarships and cash awards.

Congratulations goes out to all of the participants.  If you were not able to attend the program and see the excitement and wonderful talent presentations you can watch the program online at Falls Cable Access.

Special thank you goes out to our wonderful co hosts Alison Dwyer and Becky Weber who did a great job hosting the program, Abbie Taylor for choreographing the Self Expression routing, and Maddy Sharkey for choreographing the Opening Number.  We also thank the Menomonee Falls High School for allowing us to hold this program and the numerous Optimist Club members who volunteered their time to help with ticket sales, back stage help, and the many other endless tasks they performed along with Harry Stoetzel from Falls Cable Access to help make this program a success.
