Rehearsals have also begun for our new group of participants for the 2014 Menomonee Falls Distinguished Young Woman Scholarship Program.  We have 13 amazingly talented young ladies competing for the 2014 title.  The program date is set for Saturday, February 16, 2013 and is held at Menomonee Falls High School Auditorium.  The winner of this program will go on to participate in the State program in August.  As the weeks progress to the date of the show I will be introducing you to each one.  Our participants this year are Amy Butler, Katie Eisenhauer, Madeline Heim, Tina Kolinski, Kayla Konitzer, Samantha Madrzak, Bryce Mattson, Lauren Meyers, Morgan Nienow, Kerianne Pawley, Morgan Scrobel, Jessica Szuminski, and Alana Woodall.

On a personal note I would like to thank Menomonee Falls Patch for recognizing me as the “Person of the Year.”  I am very appreciative of this honor and it means a lot to me.  My involvement with the Optimist Club has allowed me the great opportunities to achieve my goals of giving back.  The Optimist Club has over 200 members who are all very deserving of this recognition.  So many new ideas and events began in 2012 to help us achieve our mission of “Bringing out the Best in Kids.”  Can’t wait to see what 2013 will bring!  For more information about the Optimist Club or interested in learning more about what we do feel free to email me at dmariscal@wi.rr.com.
