Carol White, IOM, president and CEO of GBCC, said, “We’re delighted that Joe Knilans, director of the State of Wisconsin’s Office of Business Development and Craig Thompson, executive director of the Transportation Development Association of Wisconsin are able to join us for this event. The GBCC legislative update series is held quarterly and typically presents a panel of officials that allows Chamber members to hear first-hand about the discussions and decisions they are involved in that affect all of us, locally and statewide.”

The program is sponsored by and held at Herzing University on Friday, July 11, 2014 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.  Herzing University is located at 555 S. Executive Drive, Suite 100, Brookfield. There is no charge for Brookfield Chamber members; general admission is $10.00. Pre-registration is requested by Wednesday, July 9th. To register, contact the Brookfield Chamber at 262-786-1886 or email at bcc@brookfieldchamber.com.

Craig Thompson, executive director of the Transportation Development association of Wisconsin and a member of the Wisconsin Transportation Finance & Policy Commission, will speak about the proposed constitutional amendment that will be on the November 2014 ballot. If passed, the amendment will require the state’s transportation fund be used solely for transportation purposes. Craig will also speak about transportation needs in our community and the future of transportation finance in Wisconsin, and answer questions from the audience.

Joe Knilans, director in the State of Wisconsin’s Office of Business Development, will discuss just what the Office of Business Development can do for you. As the “concierge service for business,” they help cut through government red tape to solve problems, work with you to identify laws and rules that need to be reformed (or removed) and link you to various business services available in the state.
