Area nonprofits receive Days of Sharing support from Northwestern Mutual

Milwaukee area nonprofits are vital to our region and enrich our community through their programs, outreach and support. To recognize some of these standout leaders, Northwestern Mutual, through its Foundation, is announcing grants totaling $100,000 to winners of its annual Days of Sharing program. Germantown resident Lindsay Leukert, in the financial management department of Northwestern Mutual, was chosen to receive a $4,000 grant that will go to Bethany Christian Services.

“Keeping with the spirit of the season, these grants will help make a difference in the lives of people in our communities – our family, friends and neighbors,” said John Kordsmeier, president, Northwestern Mutual Foundation. “This program enables us to support employees like Lindsay as they give of their special gifts to organizations close to their hearts.”

New to the program this year is the employee choice component. Employees ranked local pre-selected nonprofits to receive grants in amounts of $15,000 to $35,000. The five organizations winning this award include, ABCD: After Breast Cancer Diagnosis, Alzheimer’s Association of Southeastern Wisconsin, Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity, Stars and Stripes Honor Flight and Walker’s Point Youth and Family Center.
