The new Radisson Hotel was officially welcomed to the village in a ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday.

Hotel General Manager Dan Gaab did the honors, surrounded by supporters and staff that have worked to make the venture a success. Gaab thanked many people involved with the project including investors, village board members, management staff, the food and beverage director, sales and marketing manager, and others essential to the creation of this hotel.

Guests were treated to a reception complete with beef wellington, chicken cordon-blue, a pasta bar, chocolate mousse, and much more.

IT is hoped that the hotel will help rejuvenate an area of the city that has been overlooked for some time.

It may have taken a bit longer than anticipated, but hotel leadership has said the result was worth the wait. The hotel has been open for over a week now, and the ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday made it official. A grand opening is still scheduled for June 8 to 9.
