Toppers Pizza is Coming to Menomonee Falls

Construction crews still have a lot of work to do, but the first lease is a lock in the new building on Pilgrim Road and Main Street.

For months, the corner of Main Street and Pilgrim Road was nothing more than a mud pit. Today, the steel beams are rising on the “landmark” corner building, and Toppers Pizza will be the building’s first tenant.

Toppers Pizza will occupy a 2,800-sqaure-foot space in the two-tenant building, according to CBRE Vice President Andrew Stefanich. CBRE is a commercial real estate company.

There are currently three Toppers locations within 10 miles of Menomonee Falls. Toppers Pizza is headquartered in Whitewater, Wis., and franchises are located throughout the Midwest.

Stefanich said construction should be completed early next year, and Toppers could open for business in spring. Stefanich they are still negotiating with possible tenants for the building’s second 3,200-square-foot space.

Virtually a year ago to the day, construction crews demolished the crumbling gas station that was an eyesore on a prominent intersection in Falls. The Village Board to help buffer the developer’s construction costs. The gas station left behind soil contamination that required remediation.

The Village Board required the building to stand out as a "landmark" building with distinct, aesthetically-pleasing design.

also i wonder if a restaurant that was not a chain would be able to compete. I am not a fan of chain restaurants but not much else out there and you know an Olive Garden would make it (they always have a large crowd) and not move out in a year or two like other businesses that have gotten help from Village have. But a PIZZA PLACE come one now what are they thinking

The building is too small for an Olive Garden or similar
Chris V November 21, 2012 at 05:28 PM
I would prefer a good brew pub, such as Cafe Hollander or Benelux. The Lowlands Group has a great nack for sucessful restaurants (they also own Trocadero).
Carl Engelking November 21, 2012 at 06:11 PM
It doesn't matter what goes in there - it matters that the person who owns the building pays taxes on that real estate.

We need another AJ O'brady's

3 Cuisines has EXCELLENT FOOD! Do NOT forget about THEM! If you don't frequent the small businesses we DO have don't cry when they close, and I'm talking about ALL the small businesses everywhere. Shop the Fall's FIRST! (That being said, I think we need a Golden Corral behind Cornerstone Bank in the building the Post Office was in).
MFalls Girl November 21, 2012 at 08:24 PM
they could have built the building bigger or used the other space in that shopping center. I guess fine dining for Meno. FAlls is out. We go to Germantown a lot - they have MUCH MORE than the Falls.
Carol Jannke November 21, 2012 at 10:14 PM
3 Cuisines may have good food but my idea of going out to eat is not to an aged, unattractive strip mall. If we had good restaurants in attractive locations in this Village they would be supported.

How about BW3's. We need a GOOD wings place.

Yes Carl it does matter ! Just what is a Landmark building ... So would it matter if there was a porn shop ? ... So when does the taxpayer get the front $$$ back ?
Kristin November 23, 2012 at 05:17 AM
Love the Cafe Hollander suggestion...something like that is much needed around here. No more discount stores please!!!!!!
Notty November 24, 2012 at 02:05 AM
Olive Garden does not qualify as a "real" restaurant. That place is moderate at best.
Susan Corkum November 24, 2012 at 02:17 PM
Would prefer the coffee shop or another non-chain restaurant on Main St in the village Centre. That would bring customers for the shops there and help them thrive. What would benefit the strip mall businesses already there on Pilgrim and Main is a better question.

Yo Mama's! Fantastic frozen yogurt and great atmosphere.
Sandra D November 30, 2012 at 08:27 PM
Great idea!! I love taking my kids there, but it is such a drive to the Brookfield location :(
Sandra D November 30, 2012 at 08:42 PM
@Notty, Well then what would you qualify as a "real" restaurant??
Sandra D November 30, 2012 at 08:42 PM
How is Alterra not a chain??
Lstann December 05, 2012 at 10:53 PM
Altera is local (Milwaukee - Google it) with a few branch locations. I asked them earlier this year if they planned on building on this side of the GMMA, and they did not.
Lstann December 05, 2012 at 10:56 PM
How many pizza places does the Falls/Germantown have already? 7 or 8 I think. Enough is enough. Although my son, a UW-Whitewater grad did get to like Toppers while in school.

Helen Gregson March 11, 2013 at 08:53 PM
When is Toppers opening?
MFalls Girl March 11, 2013 at 09:59 PM
looks like the building is finished but there is a for lease sign in the window - maybe Toppers bailed.
Bman719 March 25, 2013 at 05:36 AM
Topper's has great pizza, but the best thing about toppers is definitely their topper's stix! Absolutely delicious. That being said, to everyone that's complaining about what's NOT going in there.... I had the hiring manager from Buffalo Wild Wings stop at the store I work in, and it sounds like there will be a BW3's, Olive Garden, AND TGI Friday's going in off of County line Q (The border of Germantown and the Falls) within the next year and a half or so. So all this debating about what should go into the other side of the building where topper's will be is pointless... Be happy for Topper's going in, as well as the other restaurants that will be opening up in the area in the near future!

I heard Olive Garden is not coming to G-town, a Japanese steakhouse is going in the new building on Pilgrim and Main, and a self-serve frozen yogurt shop is going in the old Schlotzsky building...... I hope the frozen yogurt store comes!! Yum!
