Pilgrim Spring Shopping Center Eyes Expansion

A critical mass of interested tenants has made it possible for developers to pursue phase two of its plan on Silver Spring and Pilgrim Road.

It didn't take long for businesses to snatch up vacancies in the shopping center at the corner Pilgrim Road and Silver Spring Drive.

Schecterle Commercial Properties has its sights set on constructing a second retail building on the northeast corner of Pilgrim Road and Silver Spring Drive. The company in 2008 finished construction of the first building, which houses Tazino's, Jimmy John's, Dunkin' Donuts, Verizon Wireless and Hand and Stone Massage.

Developers received approval to build the first building in 2007, but the plans always called for a second building. Now, Schecterle has received interest from several potential tenants, and are eager to begin the next phase of the project. There is no information yet regarding the companies that expressed interest.

The second building will essentially be identical to the first, and the plans will go before the Plan Commission in September for approvals from village leaders.
