Menomonee Falls Lemon Law Attorney Gets $260K From Mercedes
'King of the Lemon Laws' nets big bucks for attorneys' fees for his work in lawsuit against German car maker.
A Menomonee Falls attorney known as the "King of the Lemon Laws" was paid nearly $260,000 this week from Mercedes-Benz USA as part of a longstanding legal fight with the car maker.
Vince Megna sued Mercedes in 2005 on behalf of a Waukesha businessman who purchased a defective sedan, the Associated Press reported. The state Supreme Court last year upheld a $482,000 judgment against the company.
On Tuesday, a Waukesha County judge also ordered the company to pay attorney fees and costs totaling $259,536, which is did the same day, AP reported.
Megna, who ran unsuccessfully for state Supreme Court in February, is considered one of the leading Lemon Law lawyers in the nation.
