After a brief hiatus, it looks like George Webb will be coming back to Menomonee Falls early in 2012.
George Webb Vice President Ryan Stamm said Wendesday that they have looked at three potential sites in Menomonee Falls to lease and remodel. Stamm said they plan to have the location ready to go by March.
Stamm did not reveal the specific location, since a deal has not been finalized. However, he said all three potential locations are located along Appleton Avenue within strip malls on the north end of the village.
In August, George Webb owner with other Webb owners in the Milwaukee area and they started . The menu changed a bit and the name changed, but the location remained the same at N88W16747 Appleton Ave.
Neavins, whose father was one of the first George Webb franchise owners in the 1950s, said there used to be a lot of freedom and control for individual franchise owners. Neavins said Griddlers Café is a return to the flexibility that they enjoyed long ago, which she thought was absent with the new franchise agreement crafted in the George Webb corporate offices.
Back in August, Stamm made it clear that Menomonee Falls was tops on the company's list to locate in. He said the changes were meant to create uniformity and efficiencies among the 28 other franchises throughout the state.
Soon, Menomonee Falls will be home to two 24-hour restaurants within the same area in the village. In a way, it's like family competing against one another.
“It will be a little strange competing,” Stamm said in August. “But we will build a nice new big restaurant in Menomonee Falls. I’m hoping the community will continue to support the business as they have in the past.”
