Frozen Yogurt Shops Zeroing In on Openings

Yo Cool is about a month ahead of Smart Cow, but both should be open before the leaves turn.

If you were eagerly awaiting frozen yogurt to arrive in Menomonee Falls … hang on just a little bit longer.

Two endeavors were announced in the last few months. Yo Cool Yogurt, in the North Pointe Center, was announced last month and planned a July opening. Smart Cow also was announced last month for the former Fastsigns location at Appleton Avenue and Shady Lane.

Workers were busy inside the future Yo Cool store on Friday, but it was evident July will pass without an opening. Owner Paul Armitage said Monday that late August was more realistic now, as he is finding that some processes are taking longer than he’d hoped.

Further north, no work was under way Friday at Smart Cow, but franchisee Jenny Bisswurm said Monday she’s expecting approval of the building permit this week.

“If all goes as planned, it will be open the end of September or early October,” she said.
