Union Remains at Frito-Lay Menomonee Falls Plant

The Teamsters Local 344 will continue to represent workers after employees voted in a decertification election.

Frito-Lay workers in a warehouse in Menomonee Falls voted to contintue the representation of Teamsters Local Union 344, reported the BizTimes.

On Thursday 51 employees voted to keep the union, while 47 voted against it.

A report filed with the police department by Frito-Lay indicated that demonstrators on behalf of the Teamsters Local 344 would assemble outside the business on March 21.

According to the Milwaukee Business Journal, employees voted 64-to-57 to not be represented by the union in November 2011.

In January 2012, the union accused the company of directly engaging provoking and supporting the decertification, the Business Journal reported. The union claimed the company engaged in discussions about terms and conditions of employment without working through the union.

The Teamsters are who we thought they were. Why is there a $90 garbage surcharge on my property taxes? The Teamsters wanted raises. Enjoy packing your Fritos, sheep.

It should say - Frito-Lay workers in a warehouse in Menomonee Falls voted to continue the representation of Teamsters Local Union 344. This will help in the eventual demise of the business. Frito-Lay, at some point, will have to close down in Wisconsin and move out of the country because they can't continue to pay the employees ridiculous wage and benefits packages. The unions were needed at one point to keep employers from taking advantage of their employees, now all they do is help the employees take advantage of the employers and eventually drive them into the ground. When will they realize this?

Nuitari - Because your property is garbage...

Kudos to all who were involved in making this a success for the sake of the working people! Management and the union both can and should work together to make these situations a win-win for both entities... We are not going back to slave labor in the great state of Wisconsin, no matter how much the TP/GOP and Gov. Walker pushes for that! Sorry TP/GOP, you lost again... get use to it!

Johnny that was such a pointless and childish comment. Alas, it is the weekend again, when the marijuana really has the hold on you. No Johnny, I have a modest $300k property that is manicured quite nicely, yielding a $5k tax bill every year. Why I need to pay these union garbagemen in addition to that is beyond me.

I at least agree with the first half of this, but the second obviously was typed after lighting up another joint.

Nuitari - Marijuana is your distraction, as you really do not have any case. You just want everyone to work for slave wages... sorry, not in Wisconsin...
