Union Remains at Frito-Lay Menomonee Falls Plant

The Teamsters Local 344 will continue to represent workers after employees voted in a decertification election.

Frito-Lay workers in a warehouse in Menomonee Falls voted to contintue the representation of Teamsters Local Union 344, reported the BizTimes.

On Thursday 51 employees voted to keep the union, while 47 voted against it.

A report filed with the police department by Frito-Lay indicated that demonstrators on behalf of the Teamsters Local 344 would assemble outside the business on March 21.

According to the Milwaukee Business Journal, employees voted 64-to-57 to not be represented by the union in November 2011.

In January 2012, the union accused the company of directly engaging provoking and supporting the decertification, the Business Journal reported. The union claimed the company engaged in discussions about terms and conditions of employment without working through the union.
