Forget Happy Hour, Thursdays Are About 'Tappy Hour' Downtown

Businesses in the Village Centre will begin offering specials every Thursday. It's a new weekly event that organizers hope will stick around for good.

Thirsty Thursday’s just got a little better in downtown Menomonee Falls.

Starting this week – Thursday of course – downtown restaurants, businesses, and bars will be offering special deals for “Tappy Hour,” which was the brainchild of Village Centre Director Barb Watters.

From 4-7 p.m. every Thursday, businesses will offer wine, beer, and appetizer specials that will only be available for “Tappy Hour.” Various art galleries and other downtown shops will also keep their doors open later. Additionally, the Cheesecake Store will feature some “sweet” deals on their beloved confections.

Watters said the idea for “Tappy Hour” emerged as an offshoot from the successful "Downtown Dining Experience" events held twice a year in fall and spring on Saturdays downtown.

“We had requests to do something similar, but during the week. It’s an event where you don’t have to purchase tickets, and we hope to have this go on indefinitely,” Watters said.

The specials offered at the various locations will be above and beyond specials that already exist at the establishment. For example, the American Legion post will serve up a brat and a beer for the old-fashioned price of $2.

Here are the businesses that are participating weekly in “Tappy Hour”:

  • Sal’s Pub and Grill
  • Three Cuisines

Each business will also post a “Tappy Hour” sign in their windows to let you know they are participating.
