Firefighters Extinguish 'Suspicious' Blaze in Falls Factory

The Menomonee Falls Fire Department has extinguished the blaze, but now investigators are beginning to piece together the suspicious cause of the fire.

Menomonee Falls Fire Chief Jeffrey Hevey said fire crews have extinguished a blaze that started in a factory on Pershing and Hayes avenues, but he said there's reason to believe it's a suspicious fire.

In A brief update with Patch at 6 p.m., Hevey said the fire was out, but the cause is suspicious and is being investigated. Hevey said crews would be off the scene in about 20 minutes, but didn't elaborate further on the cause of the blaze.

The fire started at roughly 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, and crews had the fire under control by 5 p.m. , according to radio traffic. When Patch arrived on the scene, smoke was still billowing from a rooftop window on the building.

There don't appear to be any injuries, and working tim for firefighters is roughly 45 minutes, according to radio traffic.

Patch will continue to follow this story as it develops.
