Suspicious Man Reported in Downtown Tuesday

A man visited two downtown businesses claiming a waitress spilled coffee on his suit, and was asking for reimbursement.

Business owners in downtown Menomonee Falls are asking others to stay on alert for suspicious man demanding reimbursement for an employee’s slip-up.

The man is described as a white male, approximately 40 years old, and sporting a tear-drop tattoo under his left eye and wearing a gold, velure track suit. At approximately noon on Tuesday, the man stopped into both and claiming he was entitled to monetary reimbursement after a waitress spilled coffee on his suit. However, at both businesses, wait staff doesn’t serve coffee at the table.

The man also walked into and drifted around the four-corners area for some time. Village Centre Director Barb Watters said police were called because of the man’s suspicious demeanor and they were on the scene within minutes.

Captain Mark Waters said officers spoke with the man, and he appeared to be an out of state resident and was passing through. Although he was in search of money, Waters said he technically had not broken the law was sent on his way by police.

After police left, several witnesses downtown saw the man get into a maroon or dark colored vehicle without license plates. The vehicle was thought to be a Buick. If you have a similar incident or occurrence at your place of business, call the Menomonee Falls Police Department at 532-8700.
