Staying Connected in Menomonee Falls After Patch

We've put together several local hubs of information online to stay connected.

Milwaukee-area Patch editors will end their involvement with Patch on Tuesday, but the sites will remain open for blog submissions and other user contributions.

One thing we tried to do at Patch was bring all of the news and resources of Menomonee Falls under one digital roof. As your local editor over the last three years, I thought I would share a couple of the online resources that I relied upon to stay in the loop about local happenings.

Village of Menomonee Falls has a website filled with useful information about upcoming meeting and village-wide events, public works projects, and all the agendas and minutes in one digital archive. The village also hosts a "Notify Me" program. You can receive texts and other alerts when agendas are posted, or when crime alerts are sent out.

The School District of Menomonee Falls also operates a website similar to the village's. You can keep tabs on individual school events, School Board meetings, and other important announcements. It's also the place to pay dues, and check grades online.

Menomonee Falls High School Athletics are big news in the village, and there are two great ways to keep tabs on your favorite local sports. The high school feeds one of the most popular Facebook pages in Menomonee Falls, and it's always current. The Athletic Department also has a new website with all the dates, scores, and contact information you desire.

Menomonee Falls Village Centre is where everything happens on the weekends, evenings, holidays...It's just about every day. Keep tabs on the happenings downtown by checking out the Village Centre website, and signing up for the newsletter

The Menomonee Falls Public Library keeps a thorough listings page of events. Believe me, there are always fun things to do at the library. You can also browse the collection of books, and access some great reference materials.

The Menomonee Falls Chamber of Commerce is the best place for business owners and organization leaders to connect. The Chamber organizes numerous networking events, and you can learn more about them on the Chamber's website.

Of course, you can also see some of the latest news headlines by checking out Menomonee Falls NOW, or the Express News Menomonee Falls websites.

Obviously there are plenty of other community resources, like churches, sports organizations and volunteer groups, that are not listed in this article.

If you are involved with a local group, and you would like to share information about your email newsletter or website, feel free to add it to the comments section below.
