Menomonee Falls will mark Memorial Day with a downtown parade that begins at 10 a.m. Monday.
The parade will travel down Main Street from Harrison Avenue to Grand Avenue. It will then continue north on Grand Avenue and stop at the bridge over the Menomonee River just east of Woodlawn Drive. This year's parade will feature 55 units and will include l and marching bands.
Parade watchers are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to donate. The food items will be collected at the parade and given to local families in need.
After the parade, the Knights of Columbus will hold another celebration featuring free ice cream for kids and music at their Water Street Clubhouse. Brats, burgers, and hot dogs will be available for purchase.
Residents are asked to make note of street closings on Memorial Day to ensure the safety of parade participants. From 9:45 a.m. to noon, Main Street will be blocked off from Pilgrim Road to Appleton Avenue.
