Looking for a Game of Pickleball?

Pickleball can be played at a leisurely pace or at a highly competitive level—making it ideal for all ages and abilities.

Believe it or not, Pickleball is one of the fastest growing hybrid sports in the country right now, and it's now offered through the Menomonee Fall Community Education and Recreation Department.

Pickleball is a cross between tennis, badminton and ping-pong, and is played everywhere from school gyms to senior centers. The sport started as a backyard pass time and was named after the co-inventors' dog, Pickles, according to the USA Pickleball Association website. The sport has grown to roughly 100,000 participants nationwide, according to the USAPA.

The public is invited to come out and give Pickleball a try during free sessions held on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings from 9-11:30 a.m. or Monday evenings from 5:30-8 p.m. from now until July 8 at Oakwood Park tennis courts. Participants can learn the basics, try the game, and get information about the new summer program starting July 9th.
