Lifelong Falls Resident Named “Trustee of the Year”

Richard Becker was recognized by the Wisconsin Hospital Association for his commitment to local health care.

Richard Becker, a member of the Board of Directors, received the Wisconsin Hospital Association’s 2011 Trustee of the Year Award.

Becker is a lifelong resident of Menomonee Falls and an avid community supporter. He was elected to the CMH Board of Directors in 1990 and served as chairman from 2001 to 2011. In addition, he served on the Community Memorial Foundation Board from 1990 to 2002.

Throughout his service to CMH, he has brought a local perspective to the forefront, both as a resident and business leader – he currently serves as senior vice president of M&I, a part of BMO Financial Group.

Becker also served on the original Board of Directors of Froedtert Health when the system was formed in 2000. He served as chairman of the Froedtert Health Board of Directors from 2006 to 2010 and currently serves as vice chairman. Becker was an early proponent of the unique academic-community partnership that Froedtert Health brings to health care and Wisconsin.

“Dick’s contributions to health care in southeastern Wisconsin are quite unparalleled," said Dennis Pollard, president of CMH. “His decisions are made in the context of Community Memorial Hospital’s mission and the impact on the local residents served by the hospital.  Dick values relationships and the synergy resulting from those collaborations.”
