Falls Honors Its Veterans

A moving ceremony was held Friday at North Middle School to pay homage to the men and women who sacrificed their time, effort and lives for the country.

Students and staff at know how to honor veterans.

Not every school around the state takes the time out during the day to celebrate Veteran's Day. Of those that do, there are few that put on a tribute that rivals that at North.

The celebration of veterans actually began Monday at the school, when veterans from several wars . Students got living history lessons as veterans guided them through the displays.

The week culminated in a two-hour ceremony that all students attended. It included music from all the school bands, and the Milwaukee Police Department bagpipes. Several veterans passed and present were honored with plaques commemorating their service. Most importantly, veterans shared their stories about war and freedom with the next generation.
