Census: Falls Gets Dramatically Older

Median age climbs more than 10 percent according to data released Thursday.

The median age of the Menomonee Falls population jumped more than 10 percent in the last decade, according to data released Thursday by the U.S. Census Bureau.

Now the median age is 43.3, up from 39.2 years in 2000. The Wisconsin median age is 38.5 years.

Data also showed the village remains heavily family oriented, though that too changed notably. The number of family households dropped from 72.4 percent of all households to 68.8. The bureau defines a family household as consisting of a "householder and one or more other people related to the householder by birth, marriage, or adoption."
