Are You Ready for Chilly Fest?

The Village Centre is accepting entry forms to participate in the chili competition, ice carving contest, and ice bowling later in February.

After an icy, wintry evening and dramatic drop in temperatures, why not start thinking about Falls’ annual winter celebration: Chilly Fest?

Although Chilly Fest won’t take place until Feb. 16, it’s time to start registering to participate in the popular local event. Entry forms are available for the ice carving contest, chili competition, and ice bowling.

Chilly Fest runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Feb. 16. The days includes an art crawl, raffles, games for adults and children, food, and other entertainment.

The chili competition is a $15 entry fee, and contestants will cook one gallon of their finest chili, which will be judged by a panel of local celebrities. Contestants will also be judged on most creatively decorated table.

Once again, professional and amateur ice carvers will spruce up downtown with elaborate frozen sculptures in front of downtown businesses. Gather a group of artists together, and carve a block of ice for the event.

Anyone above the age of 12 can also form a team for ice bowling. Each team consists of three members, and is a scratch bowling tournament. The entry fee is $15, and the top two teams will earn prizes.
