Are You a Trivia Master?

Test your knowledge during Team Trivia competitions at establishments throughout Menomonee Falls.

“What is the name of the presidential estate which means ‘little mountain’ in Italian?”

When playing Team Trivia your group of friends will have to come to a consensus to choose your answer to questions like this and much more.

Team Trivia can be played at a variety of locations in Menomonee Falls. These include Uno Chicago Grill on Premier Lane at 7 p.m. Wednesdays, Applebee’s on Premier Lane 8 p.m. Thursdays, and coming soon at the recently opened AJ O’Brady’s Irish Pub and Grill on Main Street on Thursday nights.

There are questions about a variety of topics such as football players, national parks, TV shows, musicians, science, Napoleon, advertising slogans, playing craps, cooking, and challenges to identify song lyrics.

“Some of the teams are highly competitive, but everybody likes an excuse to get out and be social.  Plus, there are prizes,” said trivia host Sara McGuire.

At the Uno Chicago Grill & Bar location teams compete to win Uno gift cards.  The first place team receives a $30, second place team gets a $20, and third place walks away with $10.

To play Team Trivia just bring your friends to form a team.  Teams are usually made up of two to seven people.  At Uno, about 25 people play each week forming 8 to 12 teams.

There is no need to register in advance, simply decide on a team name, and let the host know a few minutes before the game starts.

There is no fee to play, and many of the regular teams join the league so they can play at any of the locations.  Team scores accumulate for a chance to play in the championship games.

After the host reads the question the team has to decide on an answer while a song plays.  An answer is written on the answer pad and turned in to the host.  They also decide how confident they are in their answer by assigning a point value.  In the final question teams can decide to wager up to 15 points to earn even more.

The Shake n' Bake team, made up of players Dave Pichler, Stephanie Wurst, Julie Dickerson, and Kayci Constant keep coming back to have fun with friends and for the prizes.

“We’ve been playing since December. We’re addicted to it!  We come every week,” Constant said.

Shake n' Bake has won first place four times, and second place a few more times already.

And by the way, if you are still wondering - the presidential estate whose name means ‘little mountain’ is Monticello.
